Project - Improvements to Interchange 142 Garden State Parkway

Construction Cost: $ 140 Million

The project involved the interchange improvements that include two new connections between the GSP and I-78, just north of the Union Toll Plaza, providing the southbound GSP to I-78 eastbound and northbound GSP to I-78 westbound movements. The project involved 2 new bridges; 3 flyover ramps and 2 simple spans and 7 interstate bridge widenings; 20 new or remodeled retaining walls and 2 post and panel noise walls; 8 new sign structures; local roadway reconstruction of 1,500 feet; 6 new/reconstructed ramps totaling over 12,000 linear feet with over 10,000 linear feet of auxiliary lanes; new Toll Plaza building and access tunnel.
